Well-being at ISH: feeling safe, sound, seen and supported
At International School Hilversum, wellbeing is approached as both an essential part of learning and everyday school life. We believe students thrive when they feel safe, supported and connected, which is why wellbeing is embedded throughout the student experience in a variety of ways.

Well-Being Coach
Our Well-Being Coach, Ms. Sonja, provides guidance and support for students who may need someone to talk to, whether related to school, friendships, emotions or personal challenges. Students have access to a trusted and caring professional who helps create a safe and supportive environment within the school community.
Mentor Programme
Our Mentor Programme, led by the Deputy Head of MYP, plays a key role in supporting students throughout their MYP journey. Mentors build strong relationships with students and provide regular guidance around wellbeing, organisation, personal development and social-emotional growth. The programme continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of students as they grow and develop.

Mindfulness & Balance
We recognise the importance of balance in student wellbeing and incorporate mindfulness and movement-based activities into school life. Opportunities such as yoga, mindfulness sessions in the PYP, capoeira and other wellbeing initiatives encourage students to slow down, manage stress, build self-awareness and develop healthy habits that support both mind and body.
Fun & School Spirit
Having fun and feeling connected are important parts of life at ISH. Our active Spirit Committee organises a range of activities and events throughout the year, including Friday lunchtime events that bring students together across year groups. These moments help build community, encourage participation and create a positive and welcoming school atmosphere.

DP Support
As students move into the Diploma Programme, they are supported by a dedicated DP team that understands the challenges and opportunities of these important final years. Through academic guidance, pastoral support, a dedicated Careers Counsellor and open communication, students are encouraged to find balance, manage workload and prepare confidently for life beyond ISH.
