We love to learn
At ISH we teach in a way that supports our students and encourages curious minds. In our classrooms, we ask questions, explore ideas and use different approaches to learning. With our all-round International Baccalaureate programme students don’t just learn facts: they learn to think for themselves, solve problems and follow their curiosity. And that’s why year after year our students achieve consistently great results.

Real-world group projects
In many classes, we combine subjects into engaging group projects. Because that’s how it works in the real world: students need to combine different skills and knowledge to get solutions. This interdisciplinary way of learning is far more inspiring, relevant, and fun.
STEAM has the future
A great example of cross-over education is our STEAM-programme, in which we combine Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. This is where students develop new skills, while creating new solutions for real life situations. Both aesthetic and clever. Both theoretical and practical.

Creativity opens new paths
The Arts has a special place in the heart of our education. Trying new things, finding new ways, creating new content… this results in remarkable work, as well as interesting new ways of looking at things. And while being creative, many new paths will open in your mind.

Student clubs: let’s do it together
ISH is home to a wide range of student clubs, activities and events that bring our community to life. Everyone is welcome to join. From coding to gardening, from Friday Fiesta to Shakespeare on stage… Here, students take the lead, have fun and build skills that stay with them for life.
Extra-curricular, extra inspiring
Life is more than reading and calculating. That’s why we offer many extra-curricular projects and programs. For example: we’re proud to organise the yearly Model United Nations (MUN) to become acquainted with global issues. And there’s our Sustainability Committee, working towards our Eco School Award.

Dive into the world, learn in the wild
As young global citizens, we want to experience the world outside our school. That’s why all grade levels regularly go on field trips and excursions. We explore living nature, real professions, different cultures, challenging sports, and amazing artwork. In The Netherlands, Europe and even beyond.

The IB Learner Profile: discover your best self
Learning is also about growing as a person. That’s why the International Baccalaureate Learner Profile is woven throughout everyday school life. Students learn to become curious, caring and open-minded. To reflect, communicate and try new things with confidence. These qualities grow naturally in the classroom and far beyond. Because learning also means discovering who you are.
Student well-being, with care and attention
Students learn better when they feel good. About themselves and the environment they are in. That’s why our school community embraces students for who they are. We offer lots of opportunities for students to foster positive relationships with each other and with staff. They have mentors and access to a well being coach and other members of the support team. So they always have someone to turn to.
