Over the past few weeks, both Kindergarten and Grade 3 have been learning about food, and their understanding of making smart food choices has evolved. Kindergarten has been focusing on food groups, food origins, and the journey of food from farm to table. Grade 3 has been exploring the differences between processed and homemade food.

Today, with the help of our amazing Italian mamas, we brought these concepts to life by making pasta with a pasta machine and using basil grown in our school to create pesto. Witnessing this process firsthand makes the impact of learning more lasting.

The kids raved about the pasta, with many saying it was the best they had ever tasted and expressing their intention to encourage their parents to do the same. Some described it as feeling fresher, cleaner, and healthier.

A big thank you to the parents who came in to make this wonderful experience possible for our students!
