In order to support War Child to raise money to help children in dangerous cities, ten DP1 students signed up for the Urban Heroes Obstacle Run. The aim of War Child hosting this event is to protect children harmed by war and/or living in violent urban areas with high chance on being kidnapped, abused or murdered by criminal gangs. This seemed like a perfect CAS activity!
After a warming-up session organized by "the tough ten miles"- crew, the 4 or 8km track including 18 or 36 obstacles started. We had to climb over high walls, jump over car-tires, swim in the lake, and run up the half-pipe. Additionally, there were balance beams, a rope ladder, monkey bars, mud crawls and many more challenging obstacles for us to conquer.
We are proud to share with you that all of our students made a great team and managed to get to the finish-slide in one piece, no one got injured and we had loads of fun!
