International School Hilversum had the opportunity to participate for the first time at The Hague Model of United Nations, one of the largest Models of United Nations globally. Approximately 3200 students from 200 schools had the chance to debate for five days on topics regarding "Work in globalised world; promoting jobs, protecting people" in the World Forum in The Hague.
IS Hilversum participated with 12 students and was representing St Kitts and Nevis. The students did research, participated in debates, made amendments, submitted resolutions, lobbied on a number of topics related to Sustainable Development Goals and had the chance to make many new friends from all over the word. The outcome is students more confident, with improved communication skills, improved research skills, aware of global issues and happy.
THIMUN had the closing ceremony in the largest auditorium of the Netherlands, the King Willem Allexander auditorium of the World Forum, with all the delegates parading with the flag of their country. For some of our students this has been their last MUN. We thank them for being with us in this journey, sharing their enthusiasm and inspiration, and wish them all the best in their academic life!
