Student Clubs at ISH, where passions come together

ISH is buzzing and bubbling with Student Clubs. All year long, there’s always something happening. Surprises, meetups and fiestas everywhere. All organised and led by students who share the same passions. Your child can join a club or even start one if it does not already exist. This is ISH beyond the classroom. Serious fun for everyone!

At International School Hilversum in the Netherlands, these student clubs and extracurricular activities are a lively part of student life and help students connect, grow and develop socially.

ISH Student Council

Who says adults decide everything? The Student Council makes sure every voice is heard. Got an idea to make school smarter, fairer or more fun? This club brings it to the table and discusses it with school management.

Sustainability Committee

Change the world. Start at school. The Sustainability Committee turns ideas into action.

From greener choices to smarter habits. Students come up with plans, run campaigns, and share ideas with students worldwide. Together they pack a punch!

Rainbow Alliance

Everyone belongs. We mean everyone. No matter who you are, or who you love.

The Rainbow Alliance celebrates diversity and makes space for students to be themselves. With open meetups, open arms and awareness moments like Purple Friday.

It’s a place to meet, talk, and feel supported.

STEAM Club

For those who can’t get enough of STEAM. With this club, students keep going beyond the lessons. They create, tinker, test, and tweak together. Using 3D printing, electronics and all the tools they need. Because there’s nothing more satisfying than making things work.

Friends For Life Club

A new school, in a new country… but your child is not alone. At ISH we link new students to buddies from day one. With all kinds of bonding activities. Friendships begin here. And often lasts long after.
It’s all part of The Millie Scarborough Friends For Life Programme, named after the student who started it.

Model United Nations Club (MUN)

M.U.N. is a serious game about making worldwide impact together. Students represent a country and debate global questions, just like at the UN. The MUN Club at ISH helps organise and run these conferences.

It’s about strong arguments, teamwork, and smart diplomacy. Serious topics. Serious skills. Serious fun.

Book Club

Reading a book is great. Reading it together is even better. Students share book tips, make BookToks and talk books. About characters, their choices and what they would do themselves. That’s how we keep stories alive.

Spirit Committee

School can and should feel like a party you want to be part of. Our spirit committee bring the vibe. From themed days to Friday Fiesta energy. Music on. Smiles on. Everyone is invited. Students plan surprises, boost school spirit and make memories together.
If it brings people together, they’re on it.

School Newspaper Team

Welcome to Alberdingk Times, our own school newspaper. For students, by students.

Here we spot stories, choose what matters, and make the news. From editorial meetings to writing, design, printing, and distribution. Students write their piece. Say what they think. And bring the buzz.

Chess Club

We love chess. Because it’s a mindcraft. And a skill for life.
Smart, intense, and never the same.
You make your move. And learn to think a few steps ahead. Play for fun. Play to get better. Play together. There’s always someone up for a game. Anywhere in the world.
